Apart from the General Eligibility candidates or applicants should consider these special requirements :
ARMY CANDIDATES
1.
Infantry /Armour/Artillery/Military
Police
o
In addition to the General eligibility applicants must have 6
Credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.
2.
Pay Corps
In addition
to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
o
Six Credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English
and Mathematics in Accounting or Business options.
o
RSA Stage III in Accounting.
o
Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting Option).
3.
Engineer Corps
In addition to the General Eligibility
applicants must have any of the following:
(i) Electricians
o
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Electrical Installation.
o
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Electrical Works.
o
City and Guilds Certificate in Electrical Engineering.
(ii) Plant Mechanics/Fitters
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Plant
Mechanic/Fitting.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in Plant
Mechanic/Fitting.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
(iii) Survey Assistants
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Surveying.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Surveying.
(iv) Painting/Sign writing
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Painting/Sign Writing.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Painting/Sign Writing.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Painting/Sign Writing.
(v) Plumbers & Masons
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of
the above.
·

(vi) Wood Construction Technology
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Wood
Construction Technology.

(vii) Welding & Fabrication Technology

(viii) Topo Draughtsman/Architectural Drawing
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Architectural Drawing.

Ghana Education Service (GES) or COVET Certificate II in
Architectural Drawing.
(Grader, Excavator, Dozer, Backhoe, Wheel Loader, Low Bed and Compactor Roller).

Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in any of
the plants stated above.

Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in any of
the plants stated above.
4.
Electrical
and Mechanical Engineers Corps (EME):
In addition
to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
(i) Motor Vehicle Engineering
· Ghana
Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering
with Driving Licence Class D.
· Ghana
Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in Vehicle Engineering with
Driving Licence Class D.
· City and
Guilds Intermediate (Internal combustion Engines and Motor Vehicles) with
Driving Licence Class D.
· City and
Guilds Certificate in Motor Vehicle Engineering Driving with Licence Class D.
(ii) Electronics/Auto Electrician &.
Electrical Engineering Technology
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of
the above.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in one of
the above.
·
City and Guilds in one of the above.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology.
·
City and Guilds in Refrigeration Technology.
(iv) Metal Smith & Weapon Fitters
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of
the above.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate in one of the
above.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Electric and Gas Welding.
(v) Office Machine Mechanic & Industrial
Mechanic
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in one of
the above.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in one of
the above.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Electronics.
(vi) Driver Recovery Mechanics
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Mechanical Recovering.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Mechanical Recovering.
(vii) Wood Construction Technology/Creative
Art Technology
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in Wood
Construction Technology and Creative Art Technology.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in Wood
Construction Technology and Creative Art Technology.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Carpentry and Painting.
5. Signals
Corps:
(i) Operation Group
·
In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6
credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics.
Possession of a valid driving licence is an advantage.
(ii)
Radio Technician
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicant much have Mathematics, Physics,
Elective Mathematics and any of the following:
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Electronics.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Telecommunications
(iii) Line Technician
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less
than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the
following:
o
Certificate in Fibre Optics Technology.
o
Certificate in RF Engineering.
o
Certificate in Satellite Communications.
6. Directorate
of Information Technology:
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less
than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the
following:
(i) Network Technicians
·
N+ Certificate from a recognized Institution including knowledge
in LINUX/Windows Server 2003 and 2008 management.
·
Certification in MySQL, SQL, and Oracle from a recognized
Institution.
(iii) Computer Programming
·
Certification in VB, C++ and Java from a recognized Institution.
(iv) Web
Design
·
Certification in HTML, PHP, CSS, CMS and Photoshop from a recognized
Institution.
7. Supply and Transport Corps:
In addition to the General Eligibility
applicants must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including
English and Mathematics and any of the following:
·
Professional Driving Licence Class D.
(ii) Supply Clerks/Storeman
·
Certificate in Storekeeping/Marketing Grade II or
Stenographer/Typist Grade I.
(iii) Movement
·
Certificate in Freight Forwarding/Air Ticketing/Cargo Handling
from recognized Institution.
(iv) Fireman/Woman
·
Certificate in Fire Fighting from National Fire Service plus
professional Driving Licence class D.
8. Public Relations Corps :
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
(i) Information Assistants
·
Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from
a recognized/accredited institution in Journalism, Public Relations, English
Language /Literature, Broadcasting, Communication Studies or Photo journalism.
·
Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from
a recognized/accredited institution in general photography.
·
Diploma/Certificate (not less than one year continuous study) from
a recognized/accredited institution in Fine Art, Film Editing, Camera Work,
Lighting, Film Directing, Sound, Graphic Design or Animation.
9. Medical Corps:
·
In addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit
in English and Mathematics (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE and any of the
following from accredited institutions:
(i)
Nurses – Diploma: Registered
General Nurse (RGN). Certificate: Health Assistants (Clinical)/Community
Health.
(ii) Laboratory Technicians – Diploma in Medical
Laboratory Technology.
(iii) Laboratory Assistants – Certificate in
Medical Laboratory Technology.
(iv) Dispensing Technicians – HND Dispensing/
Pharmacy Technology.
(v) X-Ray Technicians – Diploma in Radiography.
(vi) Dental Surgery Assistants –
Diploma/Certificate in Dental Surgery Assistance.
(vii) Dental Technicians – Diploma in Dental
Technology.
(viii) Environmental Health Officers – Diploma in
Environmental Health and Sanitation.
(ix) Environmental Health Assistants –
Certificate in Environmental Health and Sanitation.
(x) Field Technician – Certificate in
Community Health.
(xi) Medical Storemen – HND in Purchasing &
Supply.
(xii) Technical Officers – Diploma in Health
Information or Diploma in Disease Control or Diploma in Veterinary Technology.
10. Ordnance Corps:
(i) Storeman/Woman
·
In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits
(not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE and Diploma in Business Studies.
(ii) Ammunition Technicians
·
In addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits
(not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including science subjects.
(iii) Tailor/Textiles & Cobblers/ Leather
Works
In
addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in any of
the above.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in any of
the above.
11. Clerk General Duties:
In addition to General Eligibility applicants
must 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including Credit in English
and Mathematics and any of the following:
§ Certificate
in Secretaryship from a recognized Institution.
§ Certificate
in computer software applications (Word, Excel, Access, Corel Draw etc) from a recognized
Institution.
12. Education Corps:
In addition to General Eligibility applicants
must have 6 credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and
Mathematics and any of the following:
§ Teachers
Post-Secondary Certificate A.
§ Diploma in
Education.
13. Bandsmen:
In
addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than
Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:
§ Ability to
sight-read musical notes.
§ Ability to
play Woodwind or Brass instruments.
§ Proficiency
in Basic Music (ABRSM) grade 4 Theory will be an added advantage.
