GHANA ARMED FORCES RECRUITMENT 2016 (Navy Requirement)
Apart
from the General Eligibility candidates or applicants should consider these
special requirements :
NAVY CANDIDATES
In addition to General Eligibility, applicants
must have 6 credits at WASSCE inclusive English and Mathematics for the
following:
(i) Boatswains Mate
(ii) Radar Plotters
(iii) Wireless Telegraphist
2. Supply and Secretarial Branch:
(i) Writer (General Duties)
In
addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 Credits at WASSCE
including English and Mathematics and any of the following:
o
Ghana Commercial Examination Certificate Stage II.
o
Certificate/Diploma in Computer Software Application (MS Office)
from a recognized institution.
o
Stenographer GD II.
(ii) Writer (Pay)
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following;
o
Six Credits (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE including English
and Mathematics in Accounting or Business options.
o
RSA III in Accounting.
o
Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting Option).
(iii) Stores
In
addition to General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
o
6 Credits at WASSCE (Business Subjects) including English and
Mathematics.
o
GES Technical Examinations Unit Certificate in
Storekeeping/Purchasing & Supply/Certificate in Logistics & Transport
(CILT).
o
CIPS level II.
o
HND Purchasing and Supply.
(iv) Cooks/Stewards
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
o
6 Credits at WASSCE (Home Economics option) including English and
Mathematics.
o
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Hospitality and Catering Management.
o
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Hospitality and Catering Management.
(v) Tailors
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have any of the following:
o
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate Certificate in
Tailoring.
o
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in
Tailoring.
3. Technical Branch:
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have Certificate in
Computing or Information Technology (IT) from any recognized computing or IT
Institution as a general requirement for all technical branch applicants:
(i) Engineering Artificers and Mechanics
o
6 credits at WASSCE (Science Option) with Credit (not less than
C6) including English and Mathematics.
o
Marine Engine Mechanics Certificate or equivalent from any recognized
institution.
o
City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or
Equivalent certificate from recognized institutions in any of the following:
ü Mechanical
Engineering Craft and Advance Practice.
ü Mechanical
Engineering Technical Part II and III.
ü Advance/Ordinary
Technician Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
(ii) Electrical and Weapon Artificers and
Mechanics
·
6 credits at WASSCE
(Science Option) with Credit (not less than C6) in English and Mathematics.
·
City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or
equivalent certificate from recognised institutions in any of the following:
ü Electrical
Engineering Technician Part II and III (Heavy Power Option).
ü Advance/Ordinary
Technician Diploma in Electrical Engineering (Power Option).
(iii) Shipwright Artificers and Mechanics
·
6 credits at WASSCE (Not less than C6) in Metal Work/ Wood Work/
Physics including English and Mathematics.
·
City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate in
any of the following:
ü Advance
Craft in Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing, Carpentry /Woodwork or Painting and
Decoration or;
ü Advance or
Intermediate Certificate in Welding and Fabrication, Plumbing,
Carpentry/Woodwork or Painting and Decoration.
(iv) Radio Artificers and Mechanics
o
6 credits at WASSCE (Science Option) including English, Mathematics
and Physics.
o
City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or
equivalent from recognized institutions in any of the following:
ü Advance or
Intermediate in Radio, Television and Electronics Servicing.
ü Electrical
Engineering Technician Part II or III (Electronics Option).
(v) Refrigeration Mechanics
·
City and Guilds or GES Technical Examination Unit Certificate or
equivalent certificate in Refrigeration and/or Air conditioning Technology
(Advance or Intermediate).
(vi) Vehicle Mechanics and Drivers
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate
Certificate in Vehicle Mechanic and Driving.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in Vehicle Mechanic and Driving.
·
City and Guilds Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
(vii) Topo Draughtsman/Architectural Drawing
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) Intermediate
Certificate in Topo Draughtsman /Architectural
Drawing.
·
Ghana Education Service (GES) or COTVET Certificate II in Topo
Draughtsman /Architectural Drawing.
4. Medical Corps:
In
addition to the General Eligibility applicants must have credit in English and
Mathematics (not less than Grade C6) at WASSCE and any of the following from
accredited institutions:
(i) Nurses –
Diploma: Registered General
Nurse (RGN).
- Certificate:
Health Assistants (Clinical)/Community Health.
(ii) Laboratory Technicians – Diploma in Medical Laboratory
Technology.
(iii) Laboratory Assistants – Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology.
(iv) Dispensing Technicians – HND Dispensing/ Pharmacy Technology.
(v) X-Ray Technicians – Diploma in Radiography.
(vi) Dental Surgery Assistants – Diploma/Certificate in Dental Surgery
Assistance.
(vii) Dental Technicians – Diploma in Dental Technology
(viii) Environmental Health Officers – Diploma in Environmental Health and
Sanitation.
(ix) Environmental Health Assistants – Certificate in Environmental Health and
Sanitation.
(x) Field Technician – Certificate in Community Health.
(xi) Medical Storemen – HND in Purchasing &
Supply.
(xii) Technical Officers – Diploma in Health
Information or Diploma in Disease Control or Diploma in Veterinary Technology.
5. Physical Training Instructors:
In
addition to General Eligibility applicants must have the following:
· 6 Credits at
WASSCE including English and Mathematics.
· Must be a
skilled sportsman in at least two sports with proven participation at district
or regional level in Ghana.
6. Bandsmen:
In
addition to General Eligibility applicants must have 6 credits (not less than
Grade C6) at WASSCE including English and Mathematics and any of the following:
·
Ability to sight-read musical notes.
·
Ability to play Woodwind or Brass instruments.
·
Proficiency in Basic Music (ABRSM) grade 4 Theory will be an added
advantage.
